Natural Facials: Easier Than You'd Think!

You're probably thinking, "What's so easy about natural facials? Don't I have to buy expensive minerals and oils, powders and chemicals? Isn't it just as convienient to buy well rated products than having to make a mess in my kitchen?"

First things first. Just because something is considered "natural" doesn't mean that it's expensive or is a hassle to maintain. Secondly, too much of strong chemicals on your face can actually cause your skin to become dry. And besides, don't you just wanna have a mini spa quality facial once in a while as a stay in treat after a long stressful day? Thought so. =)

To achieve your mini natural facial, first start off with a few products from your fridge. Plain, vanilla yogurt is the best natural base you can use for creating a relaxing and refreshing facial. Yogurt contains Vitamin K which makes skin pretty and helps fight facial bacteria which can cause acne.

Next, reach for your bottle of Honey. Honey is another natural ingredient that helps fix blemishes and revitalize the face. Added it with yogurt and you've got yourself a killer facial cream.

Last but not least, don't forget your oats! Oatmeal, a longtime skin friend for ailments ranging from chicken pox to dry skin is just the thing to make your natural facial cream come together. Combine all ingredients to make a facial paste and then apply liberally to your tired, stressed out face.

For people who aren't easily tolerative of "messy" applications, you might want to have a few towel's handy in the bathroom while applying and removing your natural facial cream. The oatmeal likes to paste itself to whatever it comes in contact with, which is excellent news for your face, and even your hands, arms, and elbows.

Try it out. See what you think! Natural facials aren't about fancy 'organic' materials anymore... it's about making use of what we know to be good for us to begin with. Enjoy! =)

What's In the Bag: Shampoo & Conditioner

What's In The Bag? It's time for this week's makeup and fashion reveal in "What's In The Bag?" This week, it's all about hair. Shampoos and conditioners can be easily found at any drug store, but only my secret goodie for this week can truly make your hair look thick, shiny, and beautiful. So what is it? You'll be surprised and impressed!

Straight Arrow's Mane 'n Tail Shampoo & Conditioning products work wonders for dull, tired, and limp hair. The shampoo is micro-enriched with proteins that leaves your hair "squeaky clean" without damagaing your hair, and also makes hair soft, shiny and tangle-free.
The conditioner, just like the shampoo, leaves hair shiny, but also adds necessary oils to the scalp and hair to keep hair soft, lustrous, tangle-free, and also helps wtih slit-ends to keep hair prety and shiny. You can also use the conditioner as a leave-in styling cream to keep hair in place without hair appearing greasy or oily.

I've been using these products for about 2 weeks and I've definately noticed my hair becoming more shiny, soft and manageable. When I wash my hair, I can feel the "sqeakiness" of my hair being clean. The conditioner works wonders on fly aways and frizzy hair. For all hair needs, these two products should DEFINATELY be in your bag!

Let's not forget pricing! These products work wonders without breaking the bank! Each costs $5.99 at your drugstore or value store. If you shop places like Wal-Mart, K-Mart, or any other store, look for this product in the PET isle. If you're shopping in your local drugstore, look for this product in the health and beauty aides.

And that's it for this week's edition of What's In The Bag?" Tune in next week to see what secret goodie has made it's way in my Kitty Bag! =) XO! ♥

Bumpits & Hair EXPO Magazine

SO! Now that I've got some free time this weekend as promised, I get to update you on some really cool new stuff that I've got this weekend! First of all, I've just bought a box of BUMPITS! =) In case you're not familiar with what Bumpits are, they're these marvelous inventions by Big Happie Hair, Inc. that transforms limp, FLAT hair to fabulous, big, floofy hair! I just love mine! =)

If you buy in store, you only get 3 bumpits: Hollywood (XL), Regular (M), and Small (XS). If you buy online or through TV, you get the image above. I purchased mine at Walgreens and paid $9.99 and with tax about $11.19. They are totally worth it! I use mine every day and create BIG hairdos!!! =)

What you do, is first gather a bit of hair ear to ear and hold it high above your head, and start to tease your hair with the rat-tail comb provided (YAY!) and tease your hair from the scalp to about 3 inches high. You'll want to be sure to tease all your hair, even the hair that's at the sides of your hair section because you don't want any of your Bumpit to be showing.

Once you have your hair teased, select the Bumpit size that you'll want to use. I like using the Regular (M) sized Bumpit because it seems to be the 'have-all' of all the set. Anyways.. you'll want to insert the Bumpit as close to the teased hair as possible and directly ontop of your scalp. Next, smooth your hair over the Bumpit but try not to smooth too much, or your teasing will come undone a bit. Make sure to cover all of your Bumpit! How embarassing would it be if everyone saw your Bumpit?!

Imediately hairspray with medium-hold areosol spray. It works the best for all hair types and also in securing your Bumpit beneath your hair. Spray hairspray over your new hairstyle and let dry. If you think your Bumpit may be too loose, you can always start over again, or pin the sides of your hair back with Bobby's. You can also make a cute ponytail this way too!

The box of Bumpits comes with a hairstyling guide that shows some really cute ways to do your hair. At first, I was a little skeptical that it would even work because I have super-fine, thin hair, but after teasing my hair just like the instruction booklet said, my hair looked just fine using my Bumpit!

If you haven't tried a Bumpit, and you're tired of flat, boring hair, I highly suggest you invest in a box of Bumpits!

And in other news, me and the bestie Erin went out shopping and ended up in the magazine isle. I just happened to find a fabulous hair styles book by Hair Expo and Celebrity Hair Styles. I paid $7.99 for it, and over all, I'm happy with it. It has lots of fabulous hair styles and how to do them all, along with some really great, easy to follow hair style pictures as well. I couldn't find a website, so I had to scan my copy. Sorry for the quality! It's been laying around my room for a while so the edges are a lil' wrinkled!
